There will also be a special speaker, Diane Knight, Director of Client Services of Green Tourism, who will be announcing a brand new and exciting partnership between Visit Moray Speyside and Green Tourism. The partnership will see the creation of a new sustainability resource hub which will help tourism businesses in Moray become more sustainable and meet their net zero commitments. Diane will also provide information on the Visit Scotland sponsored ‘Destination Net Zero’ programme. Businesses will be able to register for the programme at the event, with it providing up to £500 off their first year of Green Tourism membership.

Joanna Taylor, a director with the Forres Area Business Association said: “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with Visit Moray Speyside to stage this sustainability event for a second time. When the Forres Area Business Association was set up, one of the subjects that members and businesses said they would like to explore more was sustainability and the environment. We held an event on how to make being sustainable a boost to the bottom line in September and by request we are now working with the Visit Moray Speyside team to run it again, this time with an even greater range of expert input.”

Joanna added: “This event is not limited to businesses operating in the Forres area, nor is it limited to tourism businesses. The speakers have much to share, whatever our businesses, and the more people we can get adopting better environmentally practices and improving profitability at the same time, the more we all benefit.”

Gemma Cruickshank, Chief Executive of Visit Moray Speyside said she was pleased to be collaborating: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Forres Area Business Association to hold the Sustainability Event.  The event will look to help businesses become more sustainable whilst being more profitable.  At the event VMS will be launching a package in partnership with Green Tourism which aims to help businesses in the region reach Net Zero which ties in with Moray’s ambition of a Net Zero region by 2030.  The package will also offer advice on available schemes and advice which in turn will make businesses more profitable in future years.  The Green Tourism package will be available to all VMS members, and we would encourage any business actively introducing more sustainable practices into their business or those who would like to be more sustainable to come along to the event.”

Light refreshments are being provided by Visit Moray Speyside.
