A number of local organisations are creating a schedule of events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Here, you will find all the information about what is going on and where over the Jubilee Weekend.

Thursday, June 2.
Mackenzie & Cruikshank – Join M&C for a Right Royal Knees Up to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. You will be treated like royalty at their Queen’s Jubilee Afternoon Tea which will be an exclusive event held in the coffee shop. Tuck into a specially created Afternoon Tea, whilst enjoying live music and a game of bingo.£20pp – 2-4pm. .Booking essential by popping in, calling 01309 696940 or visit the web shop. *The Coffee Shop will be closed from midday on June 2 to allow for the event..
The Tolbooth – Forres will join at UK -wide event to officially launch the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations.
9.30pm Forres Pipe Band Pipes will play Diu Regnare
9.35pm Imogen Symon (age 12) will play cornet piece ‘Majesty’
9.40pm St Laurence Church Bells will ring
9.45pm Tolbooth will be lit
9.45pm Forres Youth Choir will sing A Life Lived With Grace, the official song for the Queen’s Jubilee.
Friday, June 3
The Toun Mercat is back, organised by the Forres Community Activities Association 5-9pm. Forres High Street.
St Laurence’s Parish Church will have organ music and flower arranging. Timings to follow.
Sunday, June 5
Jubilee BBQ at The Cafe at Logie Steading – Held in the courtyard, you will be treated to burgers, sausages, chicken, rolls, a selection of salads and of course, the Queen’s favourite – Coronation Chicken. You will be welcomed with a complimentary non-alcoholic punch served in our China teacups making it fit for a Queen.£15 per person | £5 for those 10 years old and under. The usual menu will not be running, but the cafe will be serving teas, coffees and cakes all day. 12-4pm
Picnic in the Park – Children’s fancy dress, Children’s orienteering or fun run event, Forres & District Pipe Band, Douglas Ross MP and Lord Lieutenant Major General Seymour Monro will plant commemorative trees. 12-5pm with live music organised by Forres Community Activities Association between 3.30pm – 5pm.
